As your Mayor & Council, we want to stay connected with you during this difficult time and let you know that we are here should you have any questions or concerns. We are all in uncharted territory and have been told to stay home whenever possible, practice frequent hand washing and physical distancing. The Province of Manitoba has declared a Provincial State of Emergency to keep us all safer. This means they can utilize appropriate measures for us to follow to try and limit the spread of this virus. The need to follow the provincial health regulations and protocols is extremely important and we ask that you adhere to them. As COVID-19 cases continue to be diagnosed it is possible that we may see cases emerge within our community. The health of our individual residents is of the utmost concern to us and as a community. We will at all times respect the confidentiality of affected individuals, and RM of Gimli will not be commenting on individual diagnosed cases of COVID-19
We want to let you know that while we all are doing what we can to contain COVID-19, council is still working, and the municipality is still operating. While we cannot meet in person, we are available through phone calls, email and texting. Your council is committed to keeping the residents of Gimli safe during this pandemic. Please stay home wherever and whenever you can. Most importantly, take care of yourselves. Remember that this isolation will be harder for some than others, if you have a neighbour that needs prescriptions or groceries but are having difficulty getting them, lets show our community spirit and help out. Reach out to your neighbour, ask for help if you need it and let your council know where we can assist you. We have to physical distance of 2 metres / 6 feet but are here for one another and as a community are in this together.
