March 26, 2026 - Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend the Draft Trails Master Plan Open House. It was wonderful to see so many residents come out to review the proposed trail concepts, ask thoughtful questions, and share ideas about how trails can better connect our community, support recreation, and enhance natural areas. Your feedback and local knowledge are an important part of shaping a trail network that reflects how people move through and enjoy Gimli—today and into the future.
We understand that not everyone was able to attend the open house in person. To ensure everyone still has an opportunity to participate, the presentation materials are now available online, along with a public survey. The survey highlights the same trail options, design approaches, and priorities that were discussed at the open house, including shared‑use trail concepts and opportunities to enhance buffers, safety, and accessibility.
Whether you’re a daily walker, cyclist, skier, dog‑walker, commuter, or someone who simply enjoys Gimli’s outdoor spaces, your input matters. The survey is an easy way to share your thoughts, preferences, and concerns, and it will play a key role in refining the Draft Trails Master Plan before it moves forward.
We encourage all residents—especially those who couldn’t attend—to review the materials and take a few minutes to complete the survey.
Your feedback will help ensure the final plan reflects community values, local needs, and long‑term sustainability.

March 19, 2026 - The RM of Gimli is hosting a public open house March 26, 2026 to share and gather feedback on the Draft Trails Master Plan.
Residents are invited to drop in between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Gimli Recreation Centre to view proposed trail and pathway concepts, ask questions, and share their ideas for improving connectivity across the municipality.
Presentation materials and feedback opportunities will be available online following the open house later Thursday evening for those unable to attend in person.

February 2025 - Welcome to the RM of Gimli Trails Master Plan Project!
The RM of Gimli is excited to develop a Trails Master Plan, a strategic initiative designed to ensure that the future of our trail and urban pathway system is planned in a systematic and coordinated way. This plan will help shape how our community accesses and enjoys trails, sidewalks, and pathways for years to come.
Our objectives include:
Creating an inventory of existing trails, pathways, and sidewalks.
Analyzing future needs for the trail network.
Engaging with the community to define a shared vision, goals, and objectives.
Aligning with the evolving demands of residents and visitors.
Developing strategies that incorporate valuable community feedback.
The ultimate goal is to promote safe, accessible, and enjoyable trail use for everyone. The plan will consider the needs of different user groups, encourage positive social interactions, support tourism, and enhance local businesses.
